MUSLIN MAGIC

Every day or so someone asks how I get my stitcheries to tea-dye the way they do.  I don't really do anything special, but I have discovered that different muslins surely tea-dye differently.  I actually buy cheap muslin to get the results that you see in my patterns

I always stitch over Warm and Natural to hide threads and give my stitcheries more body.

To tea-dye, dissolve 1 TBL. of Lipton's Instant Tea in a cup of warm water and brush over finished stitchery with a foam brush making sure to cover it all well.  Sometimes I even let it puddle on top.  Then just sit back and watch the magic begin!  But really, it is rather like a watched pot that never boils....you need to go do something else for several hours or you will go nuts!  Try some tonight and in the morning you will be so happy!.
